The blue parkflyer plane is a Poly Pleaser.

The area where most of the photos were taken is situated about 4 kilometers (1 1/2 miles) North of Oliver BC in the South Okanagan (Canada), about 4 minute drive from my house.

A nice farmer named Mike Covert, is kind enough to let the local RCers use a strip of his land to fly from. Also some of the local hang glider pilots (including me) often try to ridge soar off a small 300 ft ridge on the South side of Coverts farm. Often with mixed results. On a good day it can be magical, on a not so good day it can be somewhat scary. There have been some small cross country hang glider flights from this little ridge, and on a decent day you can usually pop back and ridge soar the rock bluff in the background.

Mike and his wife own their own airplane that they keep in a hangar at the local airport, but they made a small grass airstrip on their farm where they occasionally land their airplane. They plan to one day build their own hangar there as well. Us local hang glider pilots usually try and top land on this air strip when we can, again, with mixed results :) (See the Wack videos)

All in all, for a small town area this little farm see a fair amount of flying activity of different flavors. Thanks to the goodwill of the Coverts.
